Rick Steeves just posted an article covering what he-- no, wait, what women should-- pack for a trip to Europe. While it has a couple of valid points, it still looks to me like a basic recipe for looking like a(n American) tourist, plus it's a little too Euro-centric for general travel advice.

Shop selectively: He pretty much wipes out on the first point where he recommends buying "travel clothing" from companies like REI and TravelSmith. I've tried this a few times, buying overpriced 'quick drying' science-fabric skirts with extra pockets blah blah blah. I'm glad to say I donated almost every article to an orphanage in Nepal. Just buy cotton for daily wear and one black synthetic skirt for a 'dressy' outfit.

I live in a place calles "Zahraa naser city".I worked in campany located at a aplace near "Maryotaia"or "pyrimads".Every morning I used to go to work about 8:30 am .The trip begin from my home @ "Zahraa naser city" to the round road.This phase takes 10 or 10 or 25 miutes ,either bywalking on foot or taking a microbus.I used to talk one of 2 paths to reach the round road.The round road in cairo is not comletely round .It is broken @ the area of pyrmiads.So don't worry if u keep tourning on the

I left EPFL this afternoon, took the train to Geneva, and joined the mass of people waiting to pass through French customs there to board the the TGV. Next time I will arrange to go from Lausanne, where you just board the train.

The TGV, despite its reputation, is less comfortable than the Swiss trains, much less so than the ICN.
